There's been a lot written about the guy. Heck, I wrote about him, too
IMHO, the best written about him are the newest and one of the oldest.
The newest is Walter Lee Brown's “A Life of Albert Pike”, (University of Arkansas Press, 1997). Highly readable, well researched and documented. A bit pricey. Used copies are hard to come by and new starts at about $42 (just did the Abebooks search).
The oldest if Fred W Allsopp's "The Life Story of Albert Pike", (Parke-Harper News Server, 1920). Quite dated, filled with fable and legend but also some tidbits Brown left out and a good basis for the beginning of any study on Pike. Price is right: Free. You can download it from Google Books here. _________________ -- Bro. Karen

I second the recommendation for Walter Lee Brown's A Life of Albert Pike (University of Arkansas Press, 1997). _________________ Be not too hasty either with praise or blame; speak always as though you were giving evidence before the judgement-seat of the Gods--Seneca |
