Hello gentlemen, nice forum here. I am 42, metal fabricator living in Canada. I enjoy esoteric discussions and humour, seems to a fair bit of that going on here.

I am not one yet, intentions are to be one day. I currently volunteer at a community art centre in spare time, much like Variety Village. I believe through charity, that hope and faith are encouraged in others. I also play a classical 'C' flute in public without soliciting money. Doing my part keeping the world the paradise it is.

I been haunting the pages here for awhile and finally had to say Hi.

So .... Hello joker

Thank you all for the greetings.

One thing I have always wondered...Is it possible a person may be asked or "Tapped" to join the Brotherhood? Or is it rite to ask for membership within the lodge?

Your kind replies are welcome.

We don't ask you to join, we wait patiently for you to take that first step.

"Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you."

That said, there are exceptions to this rule, generally by jurisdiction, which specify that it's allowable to ask someone to join. As we've got plenty of other Canadians here, one of them can give the official word on that question in the GWN.

You have to ask to join, here. It can be suggested, depending on where you are, but the long and the short of it is that you need to find a Mason and ask him or her.

In Ontario you have to ask a Bro. If you do not know a Bro. then you research out your local lodge and ask that way.

Thank you for the replies everyone. I have heard that expression, " To be One, Ask One. " I will make that step.

Hi ya Hatrock, your in Calgary if I remember right, right ?

I am in Cha-ran-a, or Toronto to non-city-natives. Born in East York, the only borough in Canada, yippee !! compress

Any other Canadians have their cities/towns in celebration last night ? Yonge Street was full of revelers celebrating Canada's gold win in men's hockey. I live on a side street about 40 feet from Yonge, and it was loud. Reminiscence of the Jays World Series win, back in the days. Our women also won a Gold in Hockey but there was little fanfare for that, shame really.
